It was only when the Danish optometrist
Poul-Jorn Lindberg first needed spectacles himself at the
beginning of the 1980s that he became aware of what it was like
to wear spectacles. The general approach was all too clear: "A
spectacle frame is like a support you carry on your face -
heavy, rigid and uncomfortable".
Starting out with the idea that it should be possible to make a
spectacle that was more simple, attractive and functional,
Poul-Jorn Lindberg teamed up with the architect Hans Dissing to
design a different frame that turned out to become the basis of
a completely new eyewear concept.
The result was the AIR Titanium frame, which over the years has
been supplemented with three further LINDBERG concepts:
the full-rim RIM frame, the distinctive STRIP frame and the
sports sunglasses SIRIUS Titanium.
The LINDBERG frames are produced from the perfect material -
titanium. The metal is lightweight, flexible and strong.
LINDEBRG's patented and innovative eyewear building system makes
it possible to put together a unique and personal spectacle
frame to suit the wearer in terms of shape, color and size.
LINDBERG eyewear is made exclusively from the precious metal
titanium, 18-carat gold and platinum - imagination is the only
limit. Craftsmanship for the individual, individual solutions in
preference to mass production. That's individualism. |

The lightness of LINDBERG eyewear is reflected in its design.
All unnecessary details have been done away with and the frame
is designed without screws, rivets or welds. It represents a
beautiful example of Danish, minimalist design tradition and is
eyewear that is not just worth looking out of - but also at. No
other products in the world have won so many international
design prizes as LINDBERG eyewear.
A lightweight that has conquered the heavyweights of design.
That's good design - made in Denmark. |
